In one of the largest single-day layoffs in the legal industry, law firms in the United States eliminated around 700 jobs on Thursday last week. The cutoff of jobs was attributed to the slowdown of legal work tied with the recession.
Holland & Knight, which slashed 243 job cuts, fired people across its 21 offices, adding that it will move some of its lawyers to busier areas.
