Name of your website?International Technical Services
Your name?
Brian Haydel
Your Location (city, etc)
New Orleans
Please give us a short summary of your website?
We're engineering recruiters. Our site focuses on providing job listings and descriptions for potential job candidates to see what jobs we are recruiting for. It also provides potential clients with information about our company.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Every business needs a website nowadays. You aren't taken seriously if you don't have your own website.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. I have others now, but this was the first. The others are for fun and are not to make money.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It is shortened version of our company name. International Technical Services became Intech.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Not just our website, but our entire company is made up of degreed engineers rather than just people who recruit engineers. We feel that gives us an edge over non-engineer recruiters.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Just to keep building up the company.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Internet advertising can be very expensive, but we manage to stay ahead of the game.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would make it database-driven, so that I could add searchable job and resume databases.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Probably not initially, but we would find a way to keep up.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
SEO has become more and more sophisticated and expensive.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to build up backlinks is very time-consuming.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Lots of free ads: craigslist, etc.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I originally thought that once you set it up, you were finished.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It's been up in the form it is now for about four years. It will continue for as long as it's a useful tool to sell our services, which is basically forever, I suppose.
What is your website address?
